Picnic to Velha

We were thinking of going for one day outing with our families. And during one of the chai time get together we decided to visit a nice resort near Velha taluka on 19 and 20 Nov. Next day, one friend who is a regular visitor to this resort confirmed the booking. So on 19th we all set out for the first society family outing. We decided to take two cars, one Innova for its people carrying capacity, comfort and the other Mercedes C-Class.

This was the first outing for my new camera Nikon D-5100. And believe me; I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. We stuffed the bags and started at 4:30 pm. Drive on NH4 was breeze. Stopped at the company operated Bharat Petroleum bunk on the way. After seeing McDonals, all the children wanted to go and eat burger but somehow we convinced them. We took right turn at Nasrapur phata. It’s around 26 kms from the highway to the resort. Reached the resort at 6:00 pm. Kamalini Kutir is a small resort having 3 cottages. First impression…awesome. The cleanliness was immaculate, arrangement was perfect and amenities were spot on. There were no Televisions, radios or newspapers…perfect. We were welcomed by the host Viraj Takalkar. We decided to split the group and all the gentlemen took one cottage. Ladies and children occupied other two cottages. The cottages were also perfect. After getting fresh, we sat together to have hot tea and bhaji. Rest of the evening we spent in chatting, discussing about different things in life, society etc. All children were enjoying their time by running around everywhere. Temperature was definitely below 10 degrees because the resort is next to river and everyone was feeling cold. Glad that everyone had packed up sufficient winter clothes. We sat in the open space watching stars which you hardly notice in the hustle bustle of the city. Dinner was served at 9:30 pm. Dinner was simply delicious and everyone gorged at it. I found the staff so helpful and caring. It was like you are at your home. We called it a day at around 11:30 and hit the bed.

Got up at 7 in the morning and I went out for taking few early morning photos. We spend the morning chatting and having hot cup of tea numerous times. At around 11:30, we went to see river. Buffaloes were having a nice bath in the water. Kids especially enjoyed the view. Then we went for a walk in the village. Saw few farmers separating rice and all the children and ladies tried their hand at it. It was fun. Then we visited an old Shiva temple and headed back to resort by 2 pm. Tasty lunch was served and everyone enjoyed it. Took rest for an hour or so. Packed up our bags at 4 pm. Everyone wanted to stay one more day. First family outing was definitely memorable and wonderful.

Lavasa

On one weekend we had not planned for anything. It was raining moderately. So we decided to visit Lavasa City. It is around 50 kms from our home. Started from home after having lunch at 12:30 pm. The road was good. Reached Pirangut within few minutes and then you need to take left to reach Lavasa. Journey onwards was simply awesome. Winding roads, ghat section at places, greenery all around, rain and your family with you. You cannot ask for perfect setting than this. I will let the pictures do the talking.
